How can you support your employees?
You can support your employees by encouraging conversation about mental health and wellbeing. Take action to ensure that everyone in your business knows what support is on offer and how they can access this support.
The management team can go on courses for mental health awareness which will help them identify signs to look out for in their teams. Training can cover a vast how to support but also how to approach the concerns with someone.
What can employees do?
Let’s take this opportunity to let men know there is help and support out there for them if they need it.
- Mens health forum are offering a free health MOT for all men which helps and supports their body and mind, the link to this is here; https://www.menshealthforum.org.uk/
- Mens sheds are community spaces for men to connect, converse and create. The activities are often similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups of men to enjoy together. They help reduce loneliness and isolation. The link is here; https://menssheds.org.uk/
Men should feel more confident to speak out and reach for support and the links above provide this. Issues can be raised confidentially and can help support their health whilst allowing them to continue with everyday life.
